Rainforestation Nature Park has a smorgasbord of fun activities including wildlife, Indigenous Culture and rainforest!

Experience the tropical rainforest from a totally unique perspective aboard an amphibious World War II Army Duck or DUKW (colloquially known as Duck). Your knowledgeable Duck Captain will identify and explain fascinating plants and wildlife as you pass by before splashing into the lake for a cruise with more wildlife to be seen.

The Koala and Wildlife Park allows visitors to experience another facet of Australia and get up close and personal with Australian wildlife. Hand feed the free roaming kangaroos and wallabies in the landscaped gardens, observe the endangered cassowary and Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroo and see Neville and Dennis, the only Tasmanian Devils in Cairns! Sneak a peek at Juliet our sneaky wombat, meet Ned and Kelly the Alpine Dingoes and meet Ricky the cheeky Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo. Enter our reptile house and see a range of pythons and lizards and see the iconic Australian koala. The star attraction of our Wildlife Park is “Jack the Ripper”, a 5 metre saltwater crocodile weighing at 650kgs with a reputation of killing 12 of his girlfriends in times gone by. Jack is kept in his own enclosure with an elevated platform perfect for your safe and close-up viewing.

The Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience – Local Indigenous Pamagirri Guides welcome you to join them on a journey to discover the Dreamtime and learn about the fascinating customs and ancient traditions that are kept alive in the rainforest of Kuranda, in Tropical North Queensland. The experience includes a dance performance and guided Dreamtime walk, experiencing Tropical North Queensland through the eyes of the people who have been its custodians for tens of thousands of years. Try your hand at boomerang throwing and after a demonstration and a few lessons, you’ll be ready to test your skills. The area is specially netted for your safety, as boomerangs do come back!
